Ceramic Coated Vannas Tübingen scissors are specialized microsurgical scissors that are highly precise and delicate, commonly used in ophthalmic and neurological procedures. They are named after Tübingen, a city in Germany, where the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics is located. The black coating is non-reflective. Vannas Tübingen scissors are incredibly fine instruments, crafted of high-quality surgical grade stainless steel with extreme precision. Their design includes thin, and sharp blades, which allow for highly accurate and precise cutting in microsurgical settings. The tips of these scissors are exceptionally sharp and thin, enabling them to access and cut very fine and delicate tissues without causing unnecessary damage to surrounding structures. This is especially crucial in delicate surgeries, such as in ophthalmic procedures, where precision is paramount. The blades of Vannas Tübingen scissors can be curved or straight.
Micro Castroviejo Needle Holders are a surgical instrument used for microsurgery requiring precise control and manipulation of small needles, though they are most commonly used in ophthalmic surgery. These have a fine rounded tip. Our Castroviejo Needle Holders feature fine tips for grasping and manipulation of small, delicate needles. The jaws of these Micro Castroviejo Needle Holders are diamond dusted for a secure grasp of fine needles. These Catroviejo needle holders have a spring action for situations when you need constant pressure on the needle and precision control. These are useful when working under a microscope or in confined spaces. They are an excellent choice for left-handed operators, too, as they are designed for ambidextrous use. Be sure to clean, disinfect, and sterilize your surgical instruments promptly after each use to ensure a long life for your surgical tools.
Brushes For Histology Section Manipulation, small, 3 pcs/pack
Boar hair brush for waste section removal. An aid for cleaning the knife stage and working area on the microtome. Total length: 27cm (10-5/8") L. Brush tip: 3.2cm (1-1/4") W x 3.2cm (1-1/4") L.
Extremely soft and pliable. Perfect for the manipulation of previously fixed, dehydrated specimens into embedding capsules or molds.
Disposable micro applicators have non-linting, non-absorbent fibers arranged in a cone shape. They hold solutions in suspension, eliminating dripping. The flexible portion allows for precise application in hard to reach areas. Brush fiber section is approximately 2.5mm x 1.5mm diameter. Convenient plastic dispenser contains 100 applicators.

WPI Needle Holder with lock is a surgical instrument used for microsurgery requiring precise control and manipulation of small needles. These have a 0.4mm rounded tip. Chose either straight or curved tips. The curved needle holders are a little longer. Our Needle Holders feature fine tips for grasping and manipulation of small, delicate needles. These needle holders have a spring action for situations when you need constant pressure on the needle and precision control. These are useful when working under a microscope or in confined spaces. They are an excellent choice for left-handed operators, too, as they are designed for ambidextrous use. Be sure to clean, disinfect, and sterilize your surgical instruments promptly after each use to ensure a long life for your surgical tools. These Needle Holders are available in surgical grade stainless steel, and they are autoclavable.
This personal centrifuge fits in the palm of your hand. It is deal for quick spin downs of either microtubes or PCR tubes. Close the lid and the rotor instantly ramps up to 6000 RPM. Open the lid and it decelerates to a stop. The 8-position microtube rotor is incuded, along with a second rotor for 0.2mL PCR tubes and strips. The second rotor is stored (with the removal key) in a compartment on the bottom of the centrifuge.
For use with these WPI Products: Piconozzle Kit (5430-XX)
All holders are supplied for standard WPI single capillary tubing of 1.0, 1.2, 1.5 and 2.0 mm outside diameters. Please specify diameter of glass you are using when placing your order.
A small and compact micromanipulator for manual manipulation in all three axes (x, y and z), the MD4 is equipped with a mounting bracket for a second tool or electrode holder which can be positioned in the x and y axes independent of the manipulator and may also be tilted and swiveled by two fine-adjust screws. Scales allow readings of coarse adjustment with an accuracy of 100 µm. Additional x-axis fine control is achieved with a micrometer screw with a resolution of 10 µm.
To assess mechanical allodynia, which is a painful response to a light touch or pressure from a stimulus that is not normally painful, the Electronic von Frey Anesthesiometer was developed. The Electronic von Frey meter uses one of 15 different flexible von Frey hairs called “SuperTips™” (or rigid tips up to 800 grams). Each hair, regardless of model chosen, is exactly 0.8mm in diameter. This uniformity of design eliminates false readings and allows for comparison of test results. The Electronic von Frey can be used with chart recorders and analog/digital converters, and it never needs calibrated. This system includes either a 90, 800 or 1,000 gram probe. Mesh stands are available in a variety of sizes for large group studies.
The CardioPhys™ ECG system is a highly versatile tool for measuring ECG of a wide spectra of animals – as small as a zebrafish embryo to animals as large as an alligator.
The CardioPhys™ ECG is a bioamplifier that is designed to amplify the sum of electrical potentials from cardiac muscle, and other extracellular signals. The signal produced from cardiac recordings tracks the depolarization and repolarization of the cardiomyocytes as they contract in succession to pump blood through the heart. The amplifier is powered by two 9 V batteries to minimize electrical noise, which could interfere with or mask the voltage signal from the heart.
