Next-Generation Sequencing Assays
Experience the New World of Easy NGS
Produce test results in a single day* with the Ion Torrent™ Genexus™ System. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) with Genexus requires very small sample input and quickly provides comprehensive genomic profiles for Oncomine™ Assays.
With the Genexus hands-off, automated testing workflow, your lab can go from specimen to report in a single day — producing comprehensive genomic profiles at unprecedented speed*. Enjoy receiving NGS results within the same timeframe as immunohistochemistry (IHC) and other single-gene methods.
And because Genexus requires a low sample size — only 10 ng DNA/RNA or 20 ng of cfTNA — you can successfully sequence more samples in your lab. The set-up-and-go system makes NGS accessible even if your lab is new to the technology.
Lower Input for a Higher Success Rate
Get reliable NGS results for more samples with Oncomine Assays on the Genexus System. In oncology research, it is common that the tissue available for testing is small and often of inferior quality. With NGS platforms that require larger amounts sample, one out of four samples could be deemed unusable for sequencing.
Driven by Ion Torrent™ AmpliSeq™ HD technology, Oncomine Assays on the Genexus System require only 10 ng of nucleic acid input — and more than 95% of samples produce sequencing results.

Systems and Technology
Simple, Intuitive Operation
The Ion Torrent Genexus System offers flexibility and cost-effective sample processing for multiple or single samples with no batching required. The automated system processes specimens with only two user touchpoints and 10 minutes of hands-on time, providing you with results the same day*. The intuitive Genexus design enables users to acclimate quickly with minimal training, making it easy for your lab to bring NGS in house.
Gene Fusion Detection Technology
Precision oncology research depends on targeted gene fusion. Using FusionSync™ technology, Oncomine Assays on the Genexus System offer two essential elements of fusion detection: successful sequencing and sensitivity. FusionSync enables fusion detection with limited tissue amounts and with low levels of variants in the sample so you may detect key fusions through:
- Targeted known fusion detection
- Non-targeted detection of novel fusion combinations
- Novel fusion detection
