Elite PAP pen provides a thin, film-like water repellent barrier when a circle is drawn around the specimen on the glass slide. This barrier creates the proper surface tension to hold antibody solution within the target area on the slide. This precludes the need for wiping around the specimen during the staining procedure. Since the reagent is guarded by the hydrophobic circle around the tissue, it minimizes the undesirable dilution of reagents with the wash buffer. This pen can be used for PAP, ABC, immunofluorescence, frozen sections and in situ hybridization procedures. The Mini PAP pen is especially useful when working with multiple sections on a single slide because its tip is finer than the regular PAP pen.

The pen is stable up to 129 °C in microwave heat. The PAP Pen is an effective tool for immunostaining procedures by the Peroxidase-Antiperoxidase (PAP) method, ABC method, LSAB method, polymeric method, immuno uorescence method, ASD method, Enzyme method and Frozen Section method. For paraffin sections, the PAP Pen should be applied after deparanization. For frozen sections, the PAP Pen can be applied after fixation.
