We offer a variety of GC headspace vials, caps and septa to fulfil your application needs. Our patented vial and cap design incorporates pressure-relief features which guarantee safe operation with the high pressure typically developed during thermostatting. Ordinary vials and caps without these safety features may burst. All of our headspace vials have a greater wall thickness and round base which enables them to withstand pressure up to 60 psig. Low-volume sampling can be achieved by using a 6 mL vial and vial adapter. All PerkinElmer headspace vials are manufactured to specific tolerances that are guaranteed for fit and performance. Cap Only, 18mm Headspace, Magnetic, Blue PTFE/White Silicone 1.25mm Thick Septa. Magnetic Headspace Caps with Septa: (All Silicone is Low Bleed). The 18mm magnetic screw caps are designed for use with any autosampler using a magnet to transport the vial from station to station. The closures are preassembled with a variety of septa. Magnetic Screw Caps with Pre-Cut Star Septa: Preassembled closures include pre-cut septa where only the carrier is cut through in a Y- form, leaving the PTFE lamination in tact. The unhurt PTFE lamination gives 100% protection to the sample while leaving a 0.05mm thick PTFE portion remaining for needle penetration. The Y-form in the pre-cut silicone allows for a better flow of air during sample pick up in order to avoid a vacuum in the vial. Designed for use with any autosampler using a magnet to transport the vial from station to station.
