The Ink Chromatography and Forensics STEM Kit introduces students to ink chromatography and its application in solving forensics cases.
Students learn the fundamentals of paper and thin-layer chromatography (TLC) as they answer the inquiry question, “What colors my food?”
Students perform paper chromatography on three dyes, a dye mixture, and determine the mixture's composition
Used in chromatography studies. United Scientific Supplies Chromatography Strips are 15 x 2cm in size.
Transparent Spotting Guide may be used with plates up to 20 x 20 cm. The guide rests above the surface of the plate without contacting the adsorbent layer, avoiding damage to the layer. It accurately positions micropipettes and syringes, even when the plate is removed for drying between applications. The metric scale on the Spotting Guide facilitates reading of Rf values. Standard area circles of 3 to 255 mm2 aid in estimating spot sizes.
