Functions as a prefilter when used with GF/B microfiber filters. Whatman™ Binder-Free Glass Microfiber Prefilters, Grade GF/D provide efficient membrane protection, especially during liquid scintillation counting.Whatman glass microfiber filters without binder feature low resistance to fluid flow and high particle-loading capacity. These filters can be used at temperatures up to 500ºC. The fine capillary structure of glass fiber filters can absorb large quantities of water, enabling spot tests and liquid scintillation counting methods.
Glass microfiber filters are mainly used in applications such as air or water monitoring and can be used as pre-filters for membranes.
- Thick and offer high loading capacity
- Function as a prefilter when used with GF/B.
- Fits most filter holders
- Nominal particle retention of 2.7µm
- Fast filtration speed
|GE’s Whatman Grade GF/D fine membrane filters are thick and offer good loading capacity. GF/D can also function as a prefilter when used with GF/B, and it comes in many sizes to fit most filter holders.|
|Highly suitable for use in applications involving air filtration and for gravimetric analysis of volatile materials where ignition is involved.Because of the low resistance it is recommended for fluid flow and high particle loading capacity.|
