Apparatus consists of the following:

  • Oven containing a cooling fan
  • Metal block with an electric heater
  • Three samples (thermocouple, a three-pole metal resistor, and a thermistor)
  • Control system sensor
  • Control unit that provides the heating current
  • Connectors to the three sample devices
  • Digital temperature controller
  • Insulated flask to hold ice water for the cold junction of the thermocouple

The signals from the three sample devices can be read by any suitable measuring device provided by the user.

The digital control system can be operated in P, PI, PD, and PID modes to show their characteristics, and a wide range of parameters can be set
