  • Also called a shaker mill or high-energy ball mill.
  • Reduces samples to analytical fineness.
  • Can be used for mechanical alloying.
  • Sample size: 0.2–10 g per vial (for grinding), up to 60 mL (for blending or mixing).
  • Two-sample capacity increases sample throughput accepts grinding/mixing vials from 2.38 to 3.13 in. in length and up to 2.25 in. in diameter.
  • Speed: 1060 cycles/min. (back and forth).
  • One or two samples can be processed simultaneously; however, if one sample is processed, a second empty vial must be inserted to maintain the balance of the system.
  • Features include a variable-range-100-min electronic timer, START/PAUSE/STOP buttons, 0.33 hp motor, dual clamps for multiple sample capacity, digital display, safety interlock system, and forced-air cooling.
  • Optional adapters (8010 and 8011) permit processing of multiple samples in 0.5 x 1 in., 0.5 x 2 in., and 0.75 x 2 in. vials.
