Description

Perform isolation or removal of cross-reacting GST-specific antibodies from serum or other antibody solutions with Thermo Scientific™ Pierce GST Agarose.

This GST resin consists of purified glutathione S-transferase protein from Schistosoma japonicum that has been immobilized on crosslinked 6% beaded agarose. Antibody molecules in that cross-react with the GST portion of a recombinant fusion protein can be removed from the desired protein-specific antibody by passing antiserum over a GST agarose column. GST antibodies will bind to the immobilized GST, whereas antibodies against other fusion proteins will pass through the column unrestrained.

Highlights:

  • Specific – provides purification of target antibodies from those directed against the GST tag

  • Reusable – bound antibodies can be eluted with 6M guanidinium chloride allowing for 10 purifications with each column or aliquot of resin

  • Two formats – choose either pre-packed columns or resin slurry for use at a variety of scales
