Motor Neuron Model
Supplier: Denoyer Geppert Company 016700
Includes: An illustrated key, which identifies a total of 54 features
Reflecting the latest electron microscopic revelations, this motor neuron diorama is more than just a model. The membranous envelope has been cut away from the neuron to expose the cytological ultrastructure, organelles, and inclusions within the cell body. Branching dendrites of the neuron extend into the background, where they appear to become part of a neuron network. Synapses and an axon project from the neural surface and continue into the background to converge with other axons and synaptic vesicles. A section of the axon lifts off to expose the tightly wound layers of the myelin sheath, neurolemma, and the Schwann cell. Via cutaway view, you can observe synaptic vesicles carrying neurotransmitters about to stimulate muscle fibers to action.
Magnified more than 2500 times, the Motor Neuron Model is mounted on a hardwood base and measures 17 × 8 × 11 in.. An illustrated key, which identifies a total of 54 features, is included.
