Description

Provides qualitative measurement of cell monolayer health and quantative measures of confluency. Designed exclusively for use with cells cultured in Millicell™ Culture Plate Inserts.

Utilizes AC current for membrane resistance measurements, producing a zero net charge on cells and eliminating adverse DC current effects on cell membranes. A silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCI) pellet on each electrode tip measures voltage. Due to the small size of the electrodes, the user can easily measure transepithelial voltage and the resistance of cells grown on microporous membranes.
