Requires :
- 8mm tubing for product and Elix module reject water
- 1/2 in. tubing for RO reject water
- >1.3 gal./min. (5L/min.) drain
Description
Produce up to thousands of L/day of Type II analytical-grade water from potable tap-water feed, <200μS/cm at 77°F (25°C), and provide total control of all operating parameters and monitoring functions both within the Elix system and for the external pure water distribution loop.
Key Features
- Four-step purification systems support pure water production, storage, distribution and quality monitoring
- Total control ensures constant flowrates and consistent water quality
- Relevant parameters are checked after each purification step
- Water quality at system outlet and in distribution loop is measured with flow-through resistivity cell designed to meet USP (645) requirements
- Accuracy is assured with low 0.15cm-1 cell constant
Progard™ TL Pretreatment Pack Features
- Pack removes particles (>0.5μm filter), free chlorine, and colloids (activated carbon filter) from tap water to protect system
- Antiscaling agent protects reverse osmosis membrane in hard water areas
- Bactericidal carbon filter prevents unwanted bacteria growth
- Pretreatment packs are tailored to feedwater source and are available separately with or without chlorine tablets to autoclean RO membrane of bacteria and fouling contaminants
- Three-way solenoid valve on RO membrane outlet closes product-outlet connection to system and directs any solution to drain during cleaning
- Built-in TAG guarantees correct type of pack is used and warns user prior to exhaustion
- Membrane removes 95-99% of inorganic ions and 99% of all dissolved organics (200 Daltons), microorganisms and particles
- Reject water is recycled back to RO membrane feedwater stream
- Water recovery can be adjusted from 35-75% to optimize water consumption, depending on feedwater quality and pretreatment sequence used
- Constant flowrate at operating temperatures of 30° to 86°F (7° to 30°C) is maintained
- RO module automatically sanitized when used with Progard TL Autoclean Pretreatment Pack
- Module removes remaining ions by electrodeionization
- Electrical current across module pulls ions captured in resin beds through cation- or anion-permeable membranes toward appropriate electrode
- Ion-exchange resins are continuously regenerated by electric field applied within module—eliminating need to interrupt water production for hazardous chemical regeneration or costly resin replacement
- Resins always remain at the highest quality and do not suffer degradation from exposure to harsh regeneration chemicals or removal
- Activated carbon beads next to cathode lower pH at electrode surface to avoid scaling
- Ions in concentrating channels are flushed from system into waste stream
- Wavelength: 254nm
- Sanitizes water as last step
- Log reduction value (LRV) of 4 in bacteria count (10,000CFU/mL is reduced to 1CFU/mL) seen irrespective of nominal flowrate—producing optimum water quality for bacteria-sensitive applications
- Operating modes and performance parameters displayed in one of six available languages on 4-line (20 character/line) back-lit display
- Flashing LED and display message indicate when maintenance is required
- Optional TOC Upgrade Kit (ZLX0 T0C KT) enables units to accurately measure and display total organic carbon (1 to 999ppb) of final product water or water in distribution loop
- Systems permit direct control of distribution loop pump, inline loop UV lamp, Automatic Sanitization Module (ASM) on storage reservoir, water detector, automatic loop drain valve, and optional booster pump when tap feedwater pressure is <29psi (2 bar) (all available separately)
- Systems also check feed pressure, feedwater conductivity, temperature, RO pressure, RO permeate conductivity, and RO membrane efficiency (% ion rejection)
- Water quality data is recorded in real time for full traceability Feedwater inlet: 1/2 NPT
Applications:
- Produce water suitable for such applications as microbiological media and buffer preparation, hydroponics, and chemical and biochemical reagent manufacturing
- Can produce feedwater suitable for Milli-Q™ and Super-Q™ Ultrapure water polishing systems, and such laboratory equipment as washing machines, clinical analyzers, stability chambers, humidifiers, autoclaves, weathering test equipment and hydrogen gas generators
Compliance
Produce Type II water defined by CAP, ISO 3696/BS 3997 and CLSI; Meet purified water requirements of European and U.S. Pharmacopoeia and ASTM™
