It is used as a reagent for synthesis of: monosaccharide-derived alcohols, a late-stage intermolecular C-H olefination, intramolecular isomuenchnone cycloaddition approach to antitumor agents, rhodium-catalyzed carbene cyclization cycloaddition cascade reaction of vinylsulfonates and Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling reaction.
