ME1 Antibody in Immunohistochemistry (Frozen) (IHC (F)) — Double-labeled immunohistochemistry photomicrographs of frozen sections of mouse brain. Green: Vimentin antibody diluted at 1:200. The signal was developed using goat anti-rabbit IgG antibody (Dylight488). Red: ME1 Monoclonal Antibody (3I6) (Product # MA5-23524) diluted at 1:200. The signal was developed using goat anti-mouse IgG antibody (Dylight594). Blue: Nuclear staining with Hoechst 33342. Antigen Retrieval: Citrate buffer, pH 6.0, 15 min.

ME1 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — ME1 Polyclonal Antibody detects ME1 protein by western blot analysis. Various whole cell extracts (30 µg) were separated by 7.5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with ME1 Polyclonal Antibody ME1 Monoclonal Antibody (3I6) (Product # MA5-23524) diluted at a dilution of 1:1,000.

Antibody specificity was demonstrated by siRNA mediated knockdown of the target protein. 293T cells were transfected with ME1 siRNA and decrease in signal intensity was observed in western blot application using ME1 Antibody (Product # MA5-23524). {KD}

Background/Target Information

ME1 encodes a cytosolic, NADP-dependent enzyme that generates NADPH for fatty acid biosynthesis. The activity of this enzyme, the reversible oxidative decarboxylation of malate, links the glycolytic and citric acid cycles. The regulation of expression for this gene is complex. Increased expression can result from elevated levels of thyroid hormones or by higher proportions of carbohydrates in the diet.
