Description
Six experiments offer a wealth of scientific exploration and enable students to identify unknown compounds.
- Students experience working with proteins (albumin and gelatin) and amino acids (glutamic acid, glycine, cystine, cysteine, tyrosine, tryptophan, and arginine)
- Ninhydrin is used to detect presence of amines, indicating presence of amino acids and/or proteins
- Biuret test is used to detect presence of peptide bonds
- Specific analytical tests are used for determining presence of individual amino acids
