HUBZone-Certified Businesses

HUBZone-Certified Businesses

About HUBZone-Certified Businesses

HUBZone-certified businesses are small businesses principally located in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZones), with at least 35% of employees also living in a HUBZone.

These businesses are majority-owned and controlled by citizens, a community development corporation, an agricultural cooperative, an Alaska Native corporation, a Native Hawaiian organization, or a Native American tribe. They are also considered small by the Small Business Association (SBA).

Current Goals

The HUBZone program has an annual goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified businesses.

Every five years, the HUBZone program reviews HUBZone designations to ensure the program continues to aid communities most in need.

Let the Fisher Scientific Supplier Diversity program help you develop a workable plan to increase your laboratory spending with these businesses.
