Description

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) manual contains a category that was created for shipping animal specimens for which there is minimal likelihood that pathogens are present. The regulations cite examples of many routine laboratory tests that can now be transported as Exempt Animal Specimens (EAS). Examples of those tests are: blood or urine for cholesterol levels, hormone levels, prostate specific antigens (PSA), tests to monitor organ function (heart, liver, kidney), tests conducted for pregnancy and biopsies for cancer.

• Standard small insulated cooler (Exterior L x W x H: 11 × 9 × 11 in., Interior L x W x H: 8 × 6 × 8 in.)
• Frozen specimens are packed inside a 6 × 9 in. zip-style biohazard bag, including an Aqui-Pak™ segmented absorbent pouch that holds up to four tubes
• Ambient section includes 6 × 9 in. biohazard bag and Aqui-Pak segmented absorbent pouch, plus an ambient gel wrap to maintain the temperature environment
• Add dry ice and sample tubes to ship
