New Line of Ultrasonic Cleaners Helps Conquer Lab Challenges
Elmasonic E Plus
Laboratory equipment supplier Elma just introduced its new line of Elmasonic E Plus ultrasonic cleaners, which are ideally suited for preparing samples and cleaning instruments and related equipment in science laboratories. Registered as Class 1 medical devices, Elma E Plus ultrasonic cleaners operate at 37kHz and are available in tank capacities from 0.25 to 7.5 gal. (1 to 28.4L)
Power for Sample Preparation and Cleaning
The Elmasonic E Plus line features a unique, operator-activated pulse mode that produces intermittent bursts of 20 percent additional power to quickly remove stubborn lab instrument contaminants, degas solvents, or to mix, disperse and dissolve lab samples.
When the pulse mode is not activated, the sweep mode uniformly distributes ultrasonic cleaning power throughout the tank; this eliminates “hot spots” that can damage delicate instruments and “dead zones” of ineffective ultrasonic action.
Consistent and Safe Performance
To accommodate a variety of cleaning and sample prep challenges, Elma E Plus ultrasonic cleaners also offer a powertracking feature that automatically maintains the power level by adjusting for load changes in the cleaning tank. Microprocessor-controlled operation assures consistent performance over time.
The control panels of the E Plus series make operation easy. Users set the unit to the recommended cleaning temperature (30⁰ to 80⁰C) based on the task. The Elma E Plus units will activate an ultrasound alarm when the set temperature is reached; a warning LED indicates that the temperature has been exceeded. The timer can be set from one to 30 minutes or to remain on continuously, but will automatically turn itself off after eight hours (a safety feature).
Features and Accessories
Elmasonic E Plus ultrasonic cleaners from Elma are housed in sleek, stainless-steel cases with an intuitive, water-sealed control panel. Models with tanks larger than 0.5 gallons have ergonomic handles; units that hold 1.5 gallons or more have a side drain.
All models feature plastic lids to deaden noise and reduce evaporation; when reversed, the lids serve as drip pans for optional cleaning baskets.
Other options include: mesh-bottom cleaning baskets, fine-mesh baskets for smaller items, holders and clamps for flasks and test tubes, Hostalen acid-resistant plastic tub inserts, noise-protection boxes, and hot air dryers. Cooling coils (to control bath temperatures) and covers with inserts (to hold glass beakers) are also available.
Complete operating instructions are provided. The E Plus line carries a two-year warranty and a replacement guarantee one year from the purchase date.
