Texas Red Avidin DCS is a cell sorter grade of Texas Red Avidin D that features a high fluorescence/protein weight ratio and high fluorescence efficiency. This conjugate has low non-specific binding which can otherwise hamper resolution in cell sorting and other applications. Although Texas Red Avidin DCS has been designed for cell sorting, it can also be used in fluorescent microscopy when higher sensitivity and lower background staining are necessary. This derivative is preferred when using an amplification procedure with Biotinylated Anti-Avidin D. Texas Red Avidin DCS has an excitation maximum at 595 nm and an emission maximum at 615 nm.
