Description

  • Chemical-resistant hood protects head and neck
  • Lightweight for easy mobility
  • Maintains constant oxygen flow

Shoulder-, neck-, or waist-mounted. When charged to 3000psi, provides five minutes of breathable air for personnel escaping from emergency situations in environments immediately dangerous to life or health. Lightweight, low profile design maximizes mobility. Constant flowrate of 60 to 70L/min. keeps oxygen level up and carbon dioxide level down while maintaining the integrity of the neck seal throughout the escape. Antifog coating is applied to hood at factory and must be reapplied after each use and cleaning.

Order Info

Weight of complete apparatus: 9 3/16 lb. (4.2kg).

(Order separately.) Skat-Pak EEBD consists of four major components:Low Profile Cylinder. Small enough to be carried comfortably on the hip or chest. Aluminum construction is 10% stronger than steel and eliminates possibility of internal rust and loose scale. Improved urethane finish resists abrasion and chemical attack. Cylinder valve is constructed of nickel-plated brass and specially designed to ensure quick opening with limited number of turns. Cylinder valve includes a single-face pressure gauge that can be checked at a glance to verify that cylinder is charged and to monitor the air supply remaining. An upstream frangible disc is built into the cylinder valve for extra safety.Skat-Pak Hood. Made from clear, ester-based polyurethane to provide superior resistance to a wide range of chemicals. Hood allows excellent visibility and voice transmission. Loose-fitting design encapsulates the entire head regardless of size, without adjustment or neck constriction. Hood also seals at neck and allows ample room for head movement. It can be disconnected from the regulator and hose assembly via a nonthreaded, positive-lock quick-disconnect for easy cleaning and disinfecting. Inlet port and exhalation valve have been positioned to flush away high levels of carbon dioxide from exhaled breath; inlet deflector directs small portion of air directly across lens area to virtually eliminate fogging. Foam deflector at inlet keeps airflow noise level well below 80dBA. Elastomeric neck seal is totally encapsulated by hood material to facilitate decontamination.Regulator and Hose Assembly. Features a single-stage, pressure-compensated design that provides a constant flow of breathable air to the hood. Nickel-plated brass regulator sends air through a flexible, small-diameter hose at 3000 to 75psi to provide a flowrate of 60 to 70L/min. Hose is a low pressure design with fabric braid reinforcement and a ne

Compliance

NIOSH approved (TC-13F-181) for 5 minutes of use in temperatures down to -17.8°C (0°F) with no fogging or reduction in flowrate.
