  • Acts as a coenzyme for hydride-transfer enzymes
  • Used as a substrate for NAD(+)-consuming enzymes, which include ADP-ribose transferases, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases, cADP-ribose synthases and sirtuins
  • Recently reported to be a P2Y11 agonist
