Description

The Biometra TRIO is a unique PCR system capable of running three different PCR protocols simultaneously. These three independent sample blocks allow the system to offer high throughput in parallel operation (up to 144 x 0.2 ml samples). Laboratories that often use new protocols benefit from this versatility.

The heated lids of the Biometra TRIO is equipped with High-Performance Smart Lid (HPSL) technology. As soon as the heated lid is closed, a rubber seal on the lid encapsulates the space surrounding the sample block allowing unrestricted use of different plastic containers and plates. This closed space increases the sample block temperature uniformity and prevents condensation formation during the final PCR cooling step.

The Linear Gradient Tool enables programming of a temperature gradient with defined temperature intervals (increment) between the individual rows of the sample block. It allows the user to enter the calculated Tm value (minus e.g. 5°C) and the desired temperature increment (e.g. ± 1°C) between the rows of the sample block.

In addition to simple programming directly on the device, Biometra thermal cyclers can be accessed through a network via smartphone or tablet. The PCR Control App allows for the control and monitoring of devices outside of the laboratory. The IOS- and Andorid- compatible software has much to offer for the Biometra TOne, TAdvanced, and TRIO system lines. The PCR Control App includes: Live monitoring of PCR runs, starting and stopping runs, saving and copying programs, and reading of parameters and notifications.
