Also known as Ethylene Dichloride or Ethylene dichloride, 1,2-Dichloroethane is a chemical compound and chlorinated hydrocarbon. It is a colorless liquid with a chloroform-like scent and sweet taste, and is most often used in the production of vinyl chloride. Anhydrous solvents are used when performing certain reactions where the presence of water can prevent a chemical reaction from happening or form undesirable products. Spectrum anhydrous chemical solvents are packaged in convenient sizes featuring a double closure, which includes an easy-slip-on vinyl cap with Teflon liner and screw-on phenolic cap. These items are packaged in specially designed septum-sealed bottles under nitrogen to maintain low water content and ensure product integrity.
